Art, culture and history
Hostility and attacks from the right directed at creatives, disruptions of events that are critical of society, attempts to dominate and reinterpret historical data and locations:
The so-called right-wing cultural struggle is in full swing and is affecting more and more artists, scientists and cultural institutions. The increasing prevalence of right-wing populist and racist positions has simultaneously triggered a compounded response in the cultural sphere, including detailed analyses of cultural politics and politics of memory from the right as well as associated strategies and effects.
We receive not only requests for information but also for consultations on how to deal with extreme right-wing and right-wing populist attempts to strategically take over and dominate discussions or reinterpret historical facts.
For many years now, the MBR has been advising and supporting key players in the cultural domains of art, culture and history in their interactions with right-wing extremism, right-wing populism, racism and anti-Semitism.
MBR consultations in these fields may focus on:
- Support of cultural institutions and advice on how to deal with hostility and attempted disruptions perpetrated by right-wing populists.
- Qualification of staff related to strategies and manifestations of extreme right-wing and right-wing populist cultural politics and politics of memory.
- Support in the development of democratic guiding principles.
