NGOs and clubs/associations
In the course of our societal shift to the right, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and clubs/associations are increasingly garnering attention from right-wing extremists and right-wing populists.
– especially those hat advocate for an open and diverse society, and focus on topics such as migration, asylum, climate protection or human rights.
Insults and threats in social media are on the rise while the events and spaces of NGOs and clubs/associations are increasingly being targeted by disruptive incidents. In addition, NGOs and associations are increasingly expressing their desire to confront the issues of right-wing extremism, right-wing populism, racism, anti-Semitism and conspiracy ideologies irrespective of specific occasions – both with reference to their own work and to their social context.
The MBR advises and supports NGOs, associations and their employees in dealing with these phenomena.
MBR consultations in these fields may focus on:
- Qualification of staff related to strategies and manifestations of right-wing extremism and right-wing populism.
- Advice on general safety and protection measures as well as on communication processes in the case of acute threats.
- Advising employees on how to deal with extreme right-wing, right-wing populist, racist and anti-Semitic orientations and statements in their teams, among volunteers and cooperation partners, as well as in public relations issues.
