Private contexts
Confrontations with right-wing extremism, right-wing populism, racism and anti-Semitism are not limited to professional and occupational contexts. They can also lead to conflict in personal life,
e.g., anti-minority or conspiracy-ideological comments in families or in a circle of friends, anti-Semitic propaganda in personal letter boxes or loud, extreme right-wing music being played in a neighbour’s apartment. These conflicts are often discussed in personal conversations, on social media or in chat groups.
But altercations in close social circles can frequently lead to a significant decrease of confidence in one’s actions. Here, clients require support and (self-)assurance of their democratic, human rights-oriented attitudes while simultaneously taking into consideration the emotional connection between the conflicted parties.
The MBR advises and supports individuals or groups in their private interactions with extreme right-wing, racist, right-wing populist, anti-Semitic and conspiracy-ideological attitudes, remarks or incidents.
MBR consultations in these fields may focus on:
- Professional assessment and classification of the issue.
- Support in developing individual strategies as well as differentiated and continuously updated training modules on how to deal with right-wing extremism, right-wing populism, racism, anti-Semitism and conspiracy ideologies.
